TruDesign a winner at DAME Design Awards — Exporter Magazine

trudesign-4371769 Market leading marine designer TruDesign has received a design award at the world’s most influential international design competition for new marine equipment and accessories. 

TruDesign, which has more than 40 years experience designing injection moulded engineering plastics, was one of just seven winners at the 2015 DAME Design Awards from a field of 110 entries from around the globe. 
 

Now in its 25th year, the DAME Design competition brings together the most innovative new marine equipment and accessories, and award-winning DAME products have come to lead the worldwide leisure marine industry with their designs.

Furthermore, this innovation has seen TruDesign receive American Boat and Yacht (ABYC) certification, meaning the company can now sell into the massive US market. 
 

As a result of ABYC certification TruDesign is in the process of developing a comprehensive distribution base in the US and has commissioned a new moulding machine to keep up with increased production.
 

The annual awards form part of the three-day Metstrade event, the world’s largest trade exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry. 
 

Held last month in Amsterdam, Metstrade attracted more than 20,000 visitors from over 100 countries visit 1,350 exhibitors – including TruDesign. 
 

TruDesign’s award-winning load bearing collars are designed for use with their composite thru-hull skin fittings and ball valves. With the collar installed, the entire assembly will withstand a 227kg (500lb) static force applied to the hose tail end of the assembly, for a minimum of 30 seconds – complying with North America’s ABYC H-27 standard. The collar was designed to eliminate the need for additional fasteners through the hull, as is the case with traditional bronze flanged seacocks, making it unique in the marketplace.
