The Middle East’s organic food market, valued at about USD$227 million a year, is growing at a pace of nearly 20%, mainly driven by the rising affinity of the youth population to embrace healthy and natural lifestyles. Gulfood 2011, which offers a platform for the food and beverage industry to both showcase and source products and services for the region’s markets, will run from February 27 to March 2, 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. About 1,750 exhibitors from 20 countries have signed up for the annual event, occupying 4,700 booths and representing a rise of 50 exhibitors and 205 booths from 2009, the channel says, the quoting Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). The use of the internet has expanded beyond popular business webinars and social media to include virtual tradeshows, events, digital libraries, product launches, annual meetings, career fairs, sales meetings, training and learning centres, focus group centres and more. China will use robots to help answer visitor queries at Shanghai’s two international airports and at the entrances of some of the major venues within the Shanghai World Expo.
