taiwan-4631659 Taiwan’s Evergreen Marine and its affiliates have signed syndicated loan worth US$824 million to fund the purchase of ten 8,800-TEU newbuildings from China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSBC) of Taiwan, according to Transport Weekly, citing the Shipping Gazette. Evergreen plans on ordering roughly 100 new vessels, of which the largest will be 8,000-TEU ships. It will order 32 of these ships as it intends to deploy eight ships with each of its four group companies in Taiwan, England, Italy and Singapore. About 1,750 exhibitors from 20 countries have signed up for the annual event, occupying 4,700 booths and representing a rise of 50 exhibitors and 205 booths from 2009, the channel says, the quoting Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Taiwan is eager to talk about items that are either on the zero-tariff list of the free trade agreement between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), or that are major exports of Taiwan. feed-3558224
