Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) is to launch a low-cost carrier by next year to compete with competitors already taking chunks out of its premium market, and to stand up against Australia’s budget carrier JetStar, which is planning long-hauls to Europe. Shaped exactly like the Secure Digital (SD) memory cards now used widely in compact digital cameras, the FluCard comes embedded with WiFi to transmit data to other wireless-enabled devices such as mobile phones, laptops and tablet computers. Singapore has moved to tighten restrictions on trade with North Korea and Iran, in keeping with the sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council, according to the Shipping Gazette, citing a Singapore Custom’s release.
