Greenshell NZ is F&B exporter of the year — Exporter Magazine
Greenshell New Zealand has been named New Zealand Food and Beverage Exporter of the Year at the hotly contested Auckland ExportNZ Awards 2013, held recently at Auckland’s Langham Hotel.
The prestigious award recognised Greenshell New Zealand’s excellence in building extraordinary and sustainable export growth in the Food and Beverage sector.
Judges were glowing in their praise of Greenshell New Zealand, saying the company had shown the ability to think differently with a variety of well thought out strategies shaping their growth and future potential.
“A very big commitment has been made by the sales side of the organisation which is very committed to delivering responsiveness, quality and creative solutions to its customers,” the judges said.
“This company is always looking for continuous improvement in order to reach its full potential.”
Alongside fellow finalists Easiyo, Invivo Wines and Jack Links, that are all doing great business on distant shores, Greenshell New Zealand impressed with their innovation and tenacity in global markets.
“Any recognition is welcomed, but this award is particularly prestigious as we have worked hard to develop our brand in overseas markets,” said Greenshell New Zealand owner Peter Vitasovich.
“The time is right for our innovative product range as people search for alternative sources of protein. Our Ikana mussels really are a super food and it’s only right that we share this with the world!”
Executive officer Catherine Lye from Export New Zealand Auckland, organisers of the awards, said they were looking for; outstanding profitable and sustainable foreign exchange growth; quality planning, leadership and direction; excellence in export marketing; and operational excellence.
“It was a tough field, with such highly motivated and innovative exporters,” she said.
“This goes to show the variety of clever ways Kiwis are succeeding on the world stage and we are delighted for Greenshell New Zealand who really stood out for challenging the existing mussel market by using the Ikana brand to bring added value and integrity to international markets.”
